How should you decide what you should care about?

Lexicon: https://aynrandlexicon.com/lexicon/values.html Lecture (for inspiration + context) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uTMu2g55e0w Questions: 1\. Do you think the word "value" is a good word to encompass "that which you care about"\, whether it be "justice"\, "privacy" or just "a good meal"? 2\. What is the purpose of making explicit your"values" \(or "that which you care about"\)? How should we visualise that? 3\. By what standard \(if any\) should we pick our "values"? Is there an objective way to pick them? 4\. What are you highest values and how do they impact your life? Come discuss this topic and whether you agree with Ayn Rand or not in a roundtable format with other interested people! We use Rand's writings as a starting point for the discussion but this group is for discussing philosophical issues more generally! Feel free to come present your or your favourite philosopher's ideas on the subject. Location: We will be meeting at the Geldart, most likely in the beer garden at the back. Look for an Ayn Rand book on a table Format: Roundtable discussion, moderated to ensure everyone gets a shot at intervening on each point and to keep the discussion on topic. Feel free to message the group if you have any trouble finding us or ask the bartenders
