Bairaag- An Indian Classical Music Concert
CUICM presents BAIRAAG That bittersweet ache. The yearning that has moved poets, mystics, and musicians for centuries. Bairaag is not just a concert — it is an experience. An evening where Hindustani and Carnatic classical traditions come together, united by a single, timeless theme: spiritual longing. Across centuries and across traditions, musicians and mystics have returned again and again to this feeling — the soul's deep ache for something beyond reach. It has no single word in English. But in music, it needs no translation. On the evening of 21 June, CUICM invites you to sit with that feeling. To let it move through you the way it has moved through ragas and kritis, through the poetry of Kabir and the compositions of Tyagaraja, through every note that has ever been sung in devotion or longing. This is an evening for those who love Indian classical music, and equally for those who have never heard it before. Bairaag needs no prior knowledge — only an open heart.
