photo ©Copyright David Hallam-Jones. My number is 07815009191 just in case. MEET: 10.45 for tea at the Museum of Docklands 1, West India Quay, Hertsmere Rd, London E14 4AL at 10.45 or the walk starts here at 11.15. This walk takes in the West India Docks and the remains of what was once the longest brick building in the world; twice the length of Versailles, just because they could. We'll take in Blood Alley where the sugar soaked through the sacks. We'll take in the site of the launch of Brunel's greatest ship, so big they had to launch it sideways, a disastrous and tragic day. We'll look at the birth of Millwall football club to develop team spirit in the jam factory and the story of the independence of the island and the presidential palace. You can pay cash on the day £12 or bank transfer (sort code 090128 account number: 75471878). If you see unpaid by your name just ignore it. The walk finishes at 1.15 at Island Gardens DLR station.
